The biggest and the best football
tournament for UK's electronic design companies, that's the
Silicon Gorge Cup!
All that was missing was the Samba
music! The 2014 tournament presented another fantastic
day. 18 teams, 12 companies, 140+ players including one
person who has played in all 15 tournaments!
whose goal keept David Rosbottom made a last minute move in the
April transfer window from Astrium, were crowned the new Silicon
Gorge champions! The final was a tight match and the
runners up, Wolfson (who had travelled from Edinburgh), deserved
credit for a great performance. At the final whistle just
one goal separated the two teams.
A new feature in the 15th year was teh referee's
"player of the tournament". Congratulations to Rob Kellet
What a rhythm side line competition
which complimented the on-pitch action was won by Nvidia A team
who were pleased as punch to win 2 crates of beer.
As one of the players who competed
in the very first tournament in 2000 it was fitting for John
Moor, VP Marketing, NMI to present the trophies for the 15th

invited to present the awards at the 15th annual Silicon
Gorge Cup. It represents two of my great passions -
celebrating engineering in the UK and football. In 2000,
Richard Phelps and I suggested the idea of a tournament to
